The wood in Ichalki is a unique botanical and geological monument of nature. It's a woodland tract revealing limestone on the rocks and varied karst forms in relief as though taken to the Russian plain from mountainous countries. The surface of the wood is embedded by extensive karst ravines, big fallen-through pits on the walls of which there are cold, icy and warm caves, as well as light and dark subterranean grotted chambers of miraculously austere and regular contours.
