The Altai the highest mountain range in Siberia and is situated not far from the Mongolian border. This makes it quite pleasant in summertime with average daytime temperatures around 70°F
The Chuya river provides us with big water class III warmup for the class IV and class V Chulyshman.
Technically this tour is rich of difficult and beautiful rapids of 4-5 classes, the most, of which you can go round on the bank.
A number of beautiful waterfalls flow into these rivers, and we will certainly enjoy a trek to the Chulcha waterfalls. Visit unique Teletskoe Lake stretched more than on 70 kms.
Itinerary
Day 01. Arrival to Barnaul. Transfer by bus to the village Aktash.
Day 02. Rafting down Chuya river. We take a ride up to Begemot Rapids (“Hippo”, class 5), Slalomniy.
Day 03. Transfer by truck to Chulyshman river (6-7 hours). Campsite on the bank of the river.
Day 04. Rafting to Tudansky cascade.
Day 05. Rafting , crossing of rapids (5 category) of the Tudanskiy cascade - very serious and extreme rapids.
Day 06. Rapids of Itukaiskiy cascade (4 - 5 category). Rafting to a mouth of the river Chulcha.
Day 07. We’ll have a layover day. Trekking to Chulcha waterfalls. In the afternoon we’ll warm ourselves in a real Russian sauna inside a special tent. Natural steam, switches of green twigs, and cold water bathing will surely invigorate us all. Towards night – campfire songs.
Day 08. Rafting to Teletskoe Lake. Camping on the bank of the lake.
Day 09. We will take a small ship or a motor boat across the lake to the village of Artybash. Transfer to Barnaul. We stay in Barnaul at the eponymous hotel, a two-star affair with bar, restaurant, sauna, stores, and laundry service.
Day 10. Flight from Barnaul to Moscow. Connect with homeward-bound flight.

Rates quoted are per person, based on sharing double accommodations.
